Dr. Margaret Dick is the Executive Director of ADP. Her responsibilities include communications strategy, international event coordination and implementation, and research projects. Previously she was a professor in the Communication Department at Saint Mary’s College of California, where she developed curricula based on climate change and other social justice issues; taken students to see firsthand the devastation wrought by climate change in Central America; and worked to institutionalize practices of deliberative democracy on campus. Margaret also has extensive experience in public relations and corporate communications. During her dissertation fieldwork, she lived in El Salvador. She holds a Ph.D. in rhetoric and communication from Purdue University and is co-author of Communication and Social Understanding (2009).
