You don't have to travel to Cuba to appreciate Cuban arts and culture. The National Children's Theater of Cuba, called La Colmenita (The Little Beehive), brings Cuban folk tales to Washington, DC.

The Latino and American Students Organizaiton (LASO) and the Office of the University Chaplain of American University present "Abracadabra" by La Colmenita. "Abracadabra," written by the children, was inspired by the story of the Cuban Five. The play is about a teacher who invites her students on a journey in search of truth and justice.

Take advantage of the troup's second US tour and learn more about Cuban culture. They will have one performance at American University - Kay Chapel on October 15 at 7 p.m. ($10 donation, AU students and children free) and another on October 19 at 10 a.m. at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts (buy tickets here).
