The Center for International Policy (CIP) is a non-profit founded in 1975 to advocate for a foreign policy that promotes international cooperation, demilitarization, and respect for human rights. CIP has a number of programs working on security in Latin America, illegal financial flows, environmental protection and the militarization of U.S. foreign policy. CIP seeks an entry-level administrative staff person to manage the day-to-day functions of the office, run the organization’s internship program and assist with communications outreach. S/he will also coordinate all CIP mailings and maintain the organization’s website. This position requires a two-year commitment. The office manager/intern coordinator reports to the deputy director.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the deputy director, develop and implement systems to make the organization run smoothly, effectively and efficiently.
- Order supplies and manage relationships with vendors and office service providers.
- Assist finance director with basic data entry, including cash receipts and accounts payable.
- Advertise, interview, hire, train and supervise three groups of interns per year (up to 8 interns per semester).
- Maintain, upgrade and conduct IT troubleshooting for office equipment and staff computers as needed.
- Layout CIP reports, fact sheets, and policy briefs in InDesign.
- Coordinate printing and distribution of publications, semi-annual newsletters and fundraising materials.
- Maintain CIP’s online content. Coordinate all content uploaded to website, Facebook and Twitter.
- Compile and send informational email blasts and media alerts, and maintain web-based mailing list.
- Organize office events and, as needed, assist with planning of program conferences.
Job requirements:
- BA/BS in business, management, communications, finance, international relations or other relevant field.
- Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office programs, and InDesign.
- Familiarity with web-based content management systems (Expression Engine).
- IT experience (basic computer maintenance, troubleshooting and solving minor computer problems and experience with office networks).
- Previous office management experience desirable.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.

Salary: Mid $30Ks, commensurate with experience, includes full health benefits, dental insurance, life insurance and a retirement plan.
